Dr. Vijay Chandraraj graduated from the University of Liverpool in Medicine and is registered with the General Medical Council.
He has extensive experience across a wide range of hospital specialties including Paediatrics, Care of the Elderly, Accident & Emergency, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Breast Surgery, and Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery. Additionally, he has worked in Palliative Care at the St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.
Dr. Chandraraj specialised in General Practice and has served in several surgeries around Suffolk before joining the partnership at Ixworth Surgery, Suffolk. He is the GP Training Tutor for Cambridge Medical Students and the lead GP for Research at Ixworth Surgery.
He has completed training with The British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine and The British Medical Acupuncture Society, integrating skills from alternative medical practices with conventional medical practice.
Having studied Functional Medicine extensively, Dr. Chandraraj travelled to California to complete the Applied Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice training. He has also undertaken advanced training in Functional Medicine, focusing on its applications to the Gastrointestinal Tract, Hormone Systems, Energy Systems, Immune Systems, Cardiometabolic Systems, and Toxins through individual Advanced Practice courses.
Dr. Chandraraj is passionate about Functional Medicine and the promise it holds for his patients.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chandraraj is available for Functional Medicine or General Medicine educational talks. He also provides General Practice cover, offering both regular in-hours work and out-of-hours support.
